Job Brief:
The Accountant is a unique and challenging full-time role with the Finance team. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will be responsible for a wide array of accounting and financial activities from financial reporting, general accounting, audits, banking, and forecasting. The role involves a high degree of collaboration with the various company divisions.

Responsibilities
  • Recommend and implement financial procedures and processes to improve internal control and business processes
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities including accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general accounting, cost accounting, tax requirements, etc.
  • Responsible for treasury function including the management of cash flows, risk management and banking, and investment relationships
  • Liaise with senior management and advise on cost management, cost control measures, and the cost effectiveness of their program areas
  • Coordinate with the various company divisions to obtain required paperwork or data
  • Oversee cash flow requirements and communications with external auditors
  • Tax planning and compliance with Federal, Provincial, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes
  • Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts
  • Work with senior management to develop annual budgets and 3–5-year financial projections
  • Establish major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepare reports that outline the company’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future objectives
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports and forecasting as requested by senior management team and external auditors
  • Manage government grant or funding program applications
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in full cycle accounting
  • CPA designation required
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to interpret data
  • Self-starter
  • Strong attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
  • Assertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individuals and maintaining lasting relationships with key business partners
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong follow through and problem-solving skills
  • Positive and solutions-focused attitude
  • Honest, ethical, and accountable
  • Proven leadership abilities and able to positively encourage a team 


Details:
  • Salary: $85,000 to $95,000 per year depending on experience
  • 8:30AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid work (Head office located in Cannington, ON and work from home a maximum of 3 days per week)

Compensation

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
